Barbara Macecsko CIO, Liberty Science Center Museum and Learning Center(http://www.LSC.org)
When CIO Barbara Macecsko joined New Jersey’s Liberty Science Center (http://www.lsc.org), she faced a challenge: keeping the 295,000 square feet of state-of-the-art multimedia exhibitions, learning kiosks, digital cinemas, box office and administrative offices that make up the Science Center humming. With nearly one million teachers, students and families interacting with cutting-edge technology at the Center annually, she knew that the non-profit institution would need a technology support model that combined efficiency, high-reliability and swift response. Her solution? She turned to Uni-Data & Communications.

Sam Gaccione President, Great American Construction Corporation
Residential Construction (http://www.GACCorp.net)
Growth and relocation can be quite trying for the SMB: scaling success—finding the right people, the right space, and duplicating the winning pathways— is an organic process that defines entrepreneurship. Adding a technological layer makes the transition that much more complex, and saavy businesspeople seek out good partnerships for the task.
Great American Construction Corp, located in the New York metropolitan area, converts properties into affordable home ownership opportunities for working Americans- their walls were covered with success stories for the multiple dwelling units that gave neighborhoods and their citzens a taste of the American dream. When they were looking to expand, they new that the vision they had for the future of the business surpassed their internal capacity to support the necessary technology. So they turned to Uni-Data.
"I’m Sam Gaccione. My company, Great American Construction Corp, builds and renovates multi-family homes. Things are good: we’re involved in nearly 1000 new projects at the moment, developing housing for families from all walks of life in and around New York City. When our company grew, we relocated our offices, and the issue of our network came up: how were we going to bring phones and a network into the new space, and who would manage them? In the past, IT had been a confusing and time consuming aspect of our business. This time out, we wanted one team to handle everything.
So I looked at Uni-Data’s Network IT Managed Services for Small Business: it’s a one-stop solution: Uni-Data manages our phones, computers, internet connection, server, our company website- one call, and my technology issues are solved. Better still, with Uni-Data’s per-desktop pricing, I know exactly what my costs are month to month, and my helpdesk calls get answered in minutes, not hours or days. Uni-Data saves company time, aggravation, and money- they’re all we hoped for in a technology provider."
"When I was looking for a technology solutions provider to assist us in the standardization of our Franchise Management systems across The Dwyer Group brands, I turned to Uni-Data. They worked with us to develop a Hosted Virtualized Desktop model that allows us to deliver a secure, high-availability, and robust version of our Z-Ware franchise management software and QuickBooks®.
“The platform Uni-Data developed for us allows continual software updates across all of our brands and franchise units, without requiring much more than a good internet connection at the franchise location.
“Uni-Data’s depth of experience providing enterprise-level Information Technology nationwide meant that they were
able to help us manage third party vendors, while providing remote monitoring and remediation of connection and hardware problems at the franchise level. We’re very pleased with having selected Uni-Data as our Technology Partner— the response from the franchisees has been excellent.”
